- Seating his/her students in allotted seats.
- Writing periodical report cards. Neatness and accuracy of reports is the total responsibility of the class teacher. Any corrections are unacceptable.
- Collecting reports signed by parents. If reports are delayed (more than 2 days) it should be reported in writing to the Stage Principal/ Head Teacher.
- Reporting the absence of a student for 3 days or more to the Stage Principal/ Head Teacher.
- Making sure that his/her class list, schedule, bus list and list of books are hung up.
- Following up attendance record.
- Revising, writing alphabetically and giving his/her class list to all stage teachers.
- Checking his/her classroom furniture and equipment.
- Helping in nominating and electing student council members.
- Reading and monitoring the implementation of the School Disciplinary Code.
- Handing out books at the beginning and the end of the school year using the school’s procedure of book distribution.
- Being in contact with parents – through the supervisor.
- Knowing his/her students well (e.g. background, birthdays, etc).
- Helping with the tidiness and decoration of the classroom.
- Updating supervisors and administration with student information.
- Knowing the academic progress of each student.
- Meeting with other Subject Teachers to maintain an update on students’ progress or lack of progress.
- Reporting any medical condition a student has and informing other Subject Teachers as well as the Stage Principal/ Head Teacher.
- Discussing with the students any problems or concerns they may have.
Job Requirements
- Preferably a minimum of one year teaching experience
- A minimum of B.Sc. in the subject of specialization.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English
- A leader, who can be friends to his/her students and puts the right limits at the same time
- A mother/father, who empathizes with the students and attend immediately to their needs (academic or psychological)
- A good planner who can set the academic plan and follows it up throughout the year
- Ability to give and follow orders, and acceptance of criticism that helps one to improve
- Tactful and good appearance
- Very good organizer, intelligent and has a strong personality
