Year Resolutions
New Year Resolutions for parents and children.
The beginning of the new year presents a motivation to pursue self-development.
This can be an opportunity to reset your relationship as an individual and as a family.
Without further due, here are our top New Year Resolutions:
1- Define your priorities:
Family should always come first before anything else.
With the constant challenges parents face every day, sometimes it seems impossible to spend quality family time. Invest 15 minutes daily to spend some time with your family without any distractions, no mobile phone, or TV, only family members present mind, body and soul to communicate.
2- Demonstrate the behaviour you want to see.
During the first years of children’s lives, their parents are mainly their whole world and source of knowledge.
, they act like a sponge, imitating the behaviour of their surrounding environment. So, the key to this would be “Lead by Example”.
If you wish your children to cooperate and communicate respectfully, start acting as responsible, cooperative individuals.
3- Raise independent children.
One of the main challenges parents face would be getting children to follow the house rules set. However, parents sometimes forget that the easiest way to get children to cooperate is to include them in making the decisions.
Not only will this teach children to find their voice and unique personalities, but it will also empower them to be competent and independent.
